Privacy Policy
Effective 19 September 2026 · Last updated 19 September 2026
The short version
You can read this site without telling us who you are. We do not sell your personal information and we never have. We use cookies, and the advertising companies we work with — Google chief among them — use them too, which is how the ads on this site get paid for. If you email us or use our contact form, we keep that message so we can reply to it. You can ask us to delete anything we hold about you.
The sections below say all of that again, precisely, because the law requires precision. If anything here is unclear, write to info@kennelandkin.com and we will explain it.
1. Who we are
This policy applies to the website at kennelandkin.com. The site is published by KCS Global Group, which is the data controller — or, under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, the data fiduciary — responsible for the personal information described here.

Privacy questions, data requests, and legal notices should go to info@kennelandkin.com.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us directly
When you email us or submit our contact form, we receive your name, your email address, and whatever you write in the message. We ask for nothing beyond what is needed to reply.
Comments
If you leave a comment on an article, we collect the name and email address you enter, your comment text, your IP address, and your browser user-agent string. The IP address and user-agent are collected to help detect spam. Your email address is not published. Comments may be checked against an automated spam detection service.
Information collected automatically
Like almost every website, our servers record standard technical information each time a page is requested: your IP address, browser type and version, operating system, the page you requested, the page that referred you, and the date and time. This is ordinary server log data and we use it for security and troubleshooting.
Information we do not collect
We do not ask for or store payment details, government identification numbers, or health information about you or your animals. We do not maintain user accounts or require registration to read anything on this site.
3. How we use information
- To answer your emails, form submissions, and correction reports.
- To publish and moderate comments, where comments are enabled.
- To keep the site secure, detect abuse, and diagnose technical faults.
- To understand in aggregate which articles are read, so we know what to write next.
- To display advertising, which is how the site pays for itself.
- To meet legal obligations that apply to us.
We do not use your information to build a profile of you for our own purposes, and we do not send marketing emails.
4. Cookies
A cookie is a small text file a website stores in your browser. This site uses cookies in three ways.
- Necessary
- Set by WordPress to make the site function — for example, remembering your comment details so you do not retype them, or keeping you signed in if you are a member of our team.
- Measurement
- Set by our analytics provider to count visits and show which pages are read. These tell us how many people read an article, not who those people are.
- Advertising
- Set by Google and other advertising companies to serve ads, limit how often you see the same ad, and measure whether ads worked. These are described in the next section.
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time. The site will still work, though some conveniences will stop functioning and you will still see ads — they will simply be less relevant to you.
5. Advertising and Google AdSense
This site carries third-party advertising, and Google is one of the vendors that serves those ads.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and other sites on the internet.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google’s Ads Settings and advertising technologies page.
- Third-party vendors and ad networks other than Google may also serve ads on this site and use their own cookies. You can opt out of many of these at optout.aboutads.info, optout.networkadvertising.org, or, in Europe, youronlinechoices.com.
Advertising vendors may collect your IP address, device and browser information, general location derived from your IP address, and records of the pages you view. We do not receive your individual browsing history from them — we see only aggregate reports of how our ads performed.
Google’s own handling of data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy. If you are in a region where consent is required before advertising cookies are set, you will be shown a consent notice and your choice will be respected.
6. Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used in aggregate: how many people visit, which articles they read, roughly where in the world they are, and which sites sent them here. Google Analytics sets cookies and processes your IP address to do this.
We look at this data to decide what to write and what to improve. We do not use it to identify individual readers. You can prevent Google Analytics from collecting your data by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
7. Affiliate links
Some articles contain affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Clicking an affiliate link typically sets a cookie from the retailer or affiliate network so the sale can be attributed to us.
We do not receive your name, address, or payment details from these purchases — only a record that a sale occurred. What happens on the retailer’s website is governed by that retailer’s own privacy policy, not this one.
8. Legal bases for processing
If you are in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, we process your personal data on these grounds:
- Consent
- For advertising and analytics cookies, where consent is required. You may withdraw consent at any time.
- Legitimate interests
- For server logs, security, spam prevention, and replying to messages you send us. We have weighed these interests against your rights and consider them proportionate.
- Legal obligation
- Where we must retain or disclose information to comply with a law that binds us.
If you are in India, we process personal data on the basis of your consent or for legitimate uses as those terms are defined in the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025.
9. Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone except the service providers we need in order to run the site:
- Our web host, [YOUR HOSTING COMPANY NAME], which stores the site and its server logs.
- Our email provider, [YOUR EMAIL PROVIDER NAME], which delivers and stores messages sent to our addresses.
- Google, for advertising and analytics as described above.
- Our content delivery and security provider, [E.G. CLOUDFLARE — OR DELETE THIS LINE], which filters malicious traffic.
- Affiliate networks, where you click an affiliate link.
We may also disclose information if we are legally required to, or where it is necessary to protect our rights, our readers, or the security of the site.
10. How long we keep information
- Emails and form submissions
- Kept for up to 24 months after our correspondence ends, then deleted.
- Comments
- Kept indefinitely while published, so that conversation threads stay readable. Deleted on request.
- Server logs
- Typically retained for up to 90 days by our host, then overwritten.
- Analytics data
- Retained according to our analytics provider’s settings, currently 14 months.
Advertising vendors set their own retention periods, described in their own privacy policies.
11. Security
The site is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection. Access to the administrative side of the site is limited to members of our team, protected by strong passwords and two-factor authentication, and reviewed when someone leaves the team.
No method of transmitting or storing data is completely secure, and we will not claim otherwise. If a breach occurs that affects your personal data, we will notify you and the relevant authority within the timeframes the applicable law requires.
12. Your rights
Wherever you live, you may ask us to do any of the following, and we will not charge you or treat you differently for asking:
- Tell you what personal information we hold about you.
- Give you a copy of it.
- Correct it if it is wrong.
- Delete it.
- Stop processing it, or restrict how we process it.
- Withdraw a consent you previously gave.
If you are in the UK or EEA, you also have the right to data portability, the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests, and the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.
If you are in India, the Digital Personal Data Protection Act gives you the right to access a summary of your data, seek correction or erasure, nominate another person to exercise your rights if you are incapacitated or deceased, and raise a grievance with us before approaching the Data Protection Board of India.
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information is collected and how it is used and shared, the right to delete it, the right to correct it, and the right to opt out of its sale or sharing. We do not sell personal information as that term is defined under California law.
To exercise any of these rights, email info@kennelandkin.com with a description of what you want. We respond within 30 days. We may ask you to confirm your identity before we act on a request, so that we do not disclose someone’s information to the wrong person.
13. International transfers
We operate from India. Our service providers — hosting, email, advertising and analytics — may store and process data in other countries, including the United States and the European Union. Where data is transferred out of the UK or EEA, our providers rely on legal transfer mechanisms such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision.
14. Children’s privacy
This site is written for adults who care for dogs. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act we do not undertake behavioural tracking or targeted advertising directed at children.
If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, write to info@kennelandkin.com and we will delete it.
15. Other websites
We link out to veterinary associations, universities, retailers, and other sources. Once you follow a link away from kennelandkin.com, this policy no longer applies. We have no control over how other websites handle your data, and we encourage you to read their policies.
16. Changes to this policy
We update this policy when our practices change or when the law changes. The effective date at the top of this page always shows the current version. If we make a change that materially affects how we handle your personal information, we will say so prominently on the site rather than changing it quietly.
17. How to contact us
For anything in this policy — questions, data requests, or complaints — write to info@kennelandkin.com.
For anything about our articles, including corrections, write to contact@kennelandkin.com instead.
